城市當代舞蹈團走過的三十年，與香港社會和現代舞壇發展同呼同吸。從草創的「民主混沌時期」，到打下專業運作基礎「芭蕾革命時期」及汲取不同養料的「多元變化時期」，舞團憑藉人脈的連繫，凝聚力量，確立「建設香港本土當代文化」的藝術方針。邁進八十年代，展現本地菁英編舞作品的「三頭馬車時期」及推動中港現代舞交流的「本土發展時期」，則是舞團透過地緣的穿針引線，打開了中國現代舞發展的新天地。九七回歸倒數的時機，把香港和舞團推到國際舞台；面向這個以中國為焦點的時代，兩地文化的磨合、包容與協同，是舞團實踐「立足香港、胸懷祖國、放眼世界」 的視野。作為舞團的領航，曹誠淵一路走來笑看風雲，無憂，無悔。

Founder and artistic director of City Contemporary Dance Company, Willy Tsao takes us down the memory lane of the birth, the adversity and the development of the dance company. Following Willy’s vision for his brainchild, CCDC went through rugged stages which he fondly refers them as “Chaotic Democracy Period”, “Multiple Changes Period” and “Local Development Period”, among others, that spanned over 30 years. It is not an exaggeration to say CCDC’s growth mirrors Hong Kong’s social development and inspires the modern dance scene. Upon Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997, CCDC extended its performance stage to the hinterland and other nations with great efforts. Over the years, the dance company created and staged many performances that won its fame in the international dance arena.
