LESSER DESIGNS
Siu King-chung
Lesser Designs explores the unexplained concepts behind commonplace design artifacts in our everyday city environment and attempts to provide a detour from the local stylistic discourse of mainstream “western” and “modern” design. Issues regarding space-saving design strategies, information and experience design, designing and classifying, approaches to community design and regenerative design, etc. are drawn from local and vernacular design examples, such as street advertisements, paper cups, restaurant menus and furniture, signage, public furniture, user manuals, maps and more.
